NOTE:
This installation process is fairly easy, and should take around 45-60 minutes. Please read through the entire instructions before you begin.
First off, let's make sure your MINI's beltline trim is clean and ready for the application.
Decide where you want to start and while holding the entire roll in your hand, peel a few inches of the backing off to expose the adhesive side of the vinyl.
The width of the vinyl is slightly wider than the chrome trim around the beltline of your MINI, so we'll be applying it just over the top edge of the exposed chrome. Start the vinyl a few millimetres beyond the edge of the trim. We'll trim it up with the x-cato knife as we go along.
While applying the vinyl strip, slight tension on the roll is fine, but take caution that you do not over-stretch the vinyl. If you do, a little warmth from a heat gun should bring it back to it's normal width. Do your best to avoid wrinkles and minimize the air bubbles by pressing down the vinyl in sweeping motion with your fingers. Don't stress if you mess up a section as there is plenty of material on the roll to re-do a few areas.
As you did at the beginning of the section of trim, apply the vinyl slightly extended beyond the edge as well. Press the vinyl against the edge stop of the trim with your fingernail and then lightly cut the vinyl with your x-acto knife.
The corners will be the trickiest sections. Take your time, go slow and you should be fine.
Continue around your MINI until you've covered each section of beltline trim.
Breathe a sigh of relief, step back and admire your handiwork!
