Countryman to rule the world!?

With the “Spring” release of the MINI Cooper (F56) delayed with no official release date, I thought I would write about something a little more fun, the MINI Countryman.
The Countryman is manufactured in Austria by Magna Steyr, making it the first of the BMW era Minis to be manufactured entirely outside the UK. The Countryman has been such a success BMW has chosen to switch over its X1 to sharing a platform with the Countryman. This truck is tough, and it doesn't get more exciting than that.

This year the Countryman took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the Dakar Rally. For those of you not in the know, the Dakar is 2,702km (1678 miles to some of us) of rally raid madness across some of the most grueling terrain on Earth. To add to this year’s impressive win, MINI took 7 of the top 10 spots at Dakar. How incredible is that? Off Road Magazine named it best compact SUV in 2013, clearly for good reason.
