Occasionally, we get new parts or returns that have cosmetic blemishes that do not affect the functionality of the part. Rather than toss them in the scrap bin, we offer the parts for sale at a deeply discounted price. In many cases, the location of the blemish prevents it from even being seen once the part is installed. Like all of our products, we still guarantee it to be the correct fit and to work properly and will offer to exchange components should anything need adjustment. Please note that we do not issue refunds for scratch and dent parts.
The tensioner damper is responsible for maintianing MINI supercharger belt tenison. This is an essential component as it not only drives the supercharger but also the water pump, so even short periods of engine running after belt failure can lead to serious engine damage through over heating. When the damper fails, belt tension is lost, the belt comes off and the tensioner arm can drop down into the crank pulley causing further damage. Traditionally failure of the damper has meant complete replacement of the tensioner assmebly at a cost of close to £200. This damper replaces the failed item only saving over a £125 on the traditional fix.The damper is the same item as supplied on the MINI assembly.
