The best part about the Miata is the optional absence of the roof, but therein lies one of it's only flaws. The wind in your ear and the sweet noise of the SKYACTIV-G carving up the local twisties completely overpowers the clicky reminder that your turn signal is activated. This little device can spare you and your road neighbors from the embarrassment and confusion that occurs when a turn signal is left on unintentionally. This device is programmed to emit an alert through the car's speakers when the turn signal is left on for more than 24 seconds while the vehicle speed is greater than 2 m.p.h.
How in the what?
The 3d printed device accomplishes this feat by connecting to your car via the OBD2 port underneath the drivers side of the dash. This completely non-invasive installation means you can install the device in a matter of seconds, without any tools, and remove it as needed. It also sports a trio of leds to provide some much needed footwell lighting when you enter the car. The lights will dim once the door has been closed. When ACC power is off, the device will enter a deep sleep mode so it won't drain your battery.
Compatibility
The timer is compatible with 2016-2018 ND Miatas which are equipped with the TPMS reset switch found on the lower left hand side of the dash, next to the steering column. If your car does not have this switch, the timer is not compatible with your vehicle.
